Telkom Ruining my credit record

Telkom has provided me with a paid-up letter but has not updated my credit record reflecting this. This has now compromised my credit score negatively indicating that I have arrears on the account. Now this has impacted me being able to get a bond from multiple banks, and the banks that have given me an offer are giving me high-interest rates because I look like I haven't paid them.
