Telkom Ripping Customers off - *****ing
Telkom is ripping us off. Incorrect billing and to top it all off you cannot go into one of their stores to query your account. You cannot get through on the 081 180 line either. Conveniently they are all busy all the time. I have written to Telkom online (telkom chat) - then emailed somebody after they rep**** to me about 2 weeks later. I am still waiting on a response. To add insult to injury I have just received my next bill and that one is also incorrect. I demand that somebody contact me immediately to resolve this matter or else I will not be paying Telkom. I will be cancelling my debit order with them as they merrily just charge incorrectly and you are *****ed as it is a direct debit. There is the query about the unpaid debit fee, which I do not think is legal. I want answers for this too. I will copy my email sent on Monday 8 October 2018 (see below)
Now my latest invoice is a total of R557.78 - R280.88 ( ********** 769) and R413.57 ( ********** 566) with a discount of R136. Discount for what? Clearly the R280.88 for first contract is meant to be R140.88 (as per July 2018).
I would appreciate it if somebody with some clout can get back to me asap as this is absolute nonsense. It is stressful trying to sort out a simple bill because Telkom is unreachable.

Good day Maggie
I have a query on my most recent Telkom account.
It has been billed incorrectly. I have 2 separate contracts - one is for 10G and the other for 20G.
The 10G (nunber ********** 769) looks as thought it has been billed incorrectly. You will see there the charge for additional data purchased to the value of R280.88 which is correct, but then there is another charge at the bottom of the account for R319 (once-off internet bundle). This should be R160 and not R319.
Another thing I would like to query is the unpaid debit order fee of R202. This is not specified in the terms and conditions and I somehow do not think this is legal. I was charged this on my account about 3 months ago as the debit was returned.
If I read all the complaints online about Telkom charging this it is quite clear they are just trying to make a quick buck.
It may be a good idea to report this to the Ombudsman.
I would appreciate an explanation for this as well as a refund for the overcharge for invoice dated 1 September 2018.
I look forward to your prompt response.
Kind regards
Angela Kotze
