Telkom Rejects my payment and then still charges me extra for their rejection
I have been paying Telkom via EFT for 2 years now. In December I did the same, as always, and last week I receive an email that my account is overdue and it will be suspended. Telkom for some unbeknown reason has rejected my December with a reason on the statement of “Debits not allowed for account”. Not only that, they also charged me an additional R202.70 as a “Payment Rejection Fee”. I went onto their portal and paid the arrears amount as well as this month’s statement and the payment rejection fee via Credit Card, and the next day they suspended my service. I have phoned their call Centre twice only to be cut off after holding on for 15 minutes. Nobody notified me that I can no longer pay via EFT, and on my mobile app it specifically states I can pay via EFT by looking up Telkom on my banking profile and putting a specific number in as reference. I would appreciate if Telkom can un-suspend my service that was paid two days ago, give me back my 5G of data that I lost out on in January because of their bad admin, and refund me the R202.70 because THEY rejected a payment that I was very happy to pay. You cannot charge me for the fact that you won’t take my money...
