Telkom refusing to cancel landline

I sent a cancellation notice on 23/3/2017 via email after i was advised of the email address i needed to send it to. It returned as mailbox was full. I resent the notice on 3/4/2017. No return email was received and no reference number. I went to the Cape Gate branch 3 times, they advised that the cancellation has to be done via email. The call centre number also does not work. On 24 April 2017 a consultant contacted me and said he noticed that I wish to cancel. He called from ********** 888, and said he will call me back the next day to confirm but he never did. No reaction or communication was received from him since then. I again visited Cape Gate branch on 04/05/2017 - who then logged a complaint for me. I shortly thereafter received an sms with reference number 618458. I was then contacted by Yonga the same day at 11:44, who requested my documentation AGAIN. I resent it to both emails he provided. This was the email I received:

Yonga Katise (Y) ********** />May 4
to me

Good day

Please send cancellation forms and copy of the identity document to **********

Kind Regards

Yonga

Yonga Katise

CEO'S OFFICE/ ESCALATIONS DESK/REGULATORY SERVICES

Zone 4, BPO Park, Coega, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, 6000

Email: **********

I sent the email to the .com and .co.za email adresses. 5 times I sent requests for feedback and received no reply. But I received an account R 1118 with a warning that should I not pay the line will be cut.

Please feel free to cut my line immediately. HOWEVER, should this "overdue" account reflect on my otherwise clean credit record, I will proceed with immediate legal action against Telkom. I am sure I am not the only one this has been done to.
