Telkom refuses to end contract that already expired

I called Telkom to cancel my contract when I could no longer afford payments. The consultant misled me into thinking my contract was not yet due for cancellation. They are continuing to invoice me and say they can only cancel once all amounts due are paid up in full. All my cancellation letters are being ignored even after numerous emails.
