Telkom Poor and *********** services
My husband and I have been paying clients of Telkom for a year now and very disatisfied with the endless lies and incompetence of the company staff. We initially requested uncapped really fast internet as my husband and I use this for our corporate guest house and were told that the 20 meg uncapped service will be the best option. We have been paying R1700 per month for the service for the past year and yet only receive 10 meg speed, we were told by several technicians who come to repair the rotting lines every other month that the area cannot accomodate this capacity. In this instance we we **** to and failed in terms of making an informed decision. Over and above this issue we have experienced for the past year, on 20 Jan received a call from MCS Debt Recovery services stating that Telkom has handed me over for failure to pay my land line account. i contacted Telkoms Billing department to query and they escalated the dispute to the credit department who confirmed in writing that any judgements or defaults will be reversed with all credit bureaus as they can see that my account stands at 1 Cent outstanding. To date this has not been sorted as i still receive calls from their appointed debt collectors. The final and most critical issue although our account has been paid we have been without our internet service since the 19th of Jan 2018 calling Telkom several times throughout the day daily since. Each time one calls for a progress on the fault we are given different stories. We have been told the account is suspended, and tecehnical says we have to call the billing department, when one call the billing department they tell you to call technical back to tell them they need to check the satus of the account they will realise that the account is not suspended but is in fact active. When I did this I was then given the excuse that the billing department changed our internet line from ADSL to fibre yet we do not have fibre cables in our area nor have we consented to this, I called the billing department back again and was told by their supervisor who then told me were told that a technician has come out, a blatent lie from the technician as i am home daily. Telkom faults department refuses to allow anyone to talk to a manager. Instead you are It was only after a week and several calls later that I managed to a land line number of the manager for escallations that I was informed that the area is a problem. She battled an entire day to get hold of the relevent parties within Telkom who deals with the assignment of Technicians and so we found ourselves in a situation where we were promised a 20meg speed, offered a 10 meg speed, lastly to end on 0 megs. We have since transferred both the land line and the internet line the Landline is not able to call out as I have been given a number of an old client whose line was suspended and the internet not transferred to the new address at all. The result of Telkom's poor service and incompetence has affected my credit scores, loss of business as I have not been able to send invoices to my corporate clients nor hamave they been able to reach me, frustration of me having to be on the telephone to them everyday since 19th Jan 2018 as I am concerned about our careers, My son and I both study and as final year students not able to access the internet having to buy either additional data from the competitor or freinds to complete online research and assignments whilst we are required to pay Telkom service. I just want the services I have paid for and rightfully deserve such. I dont thin it fair for paying clients to be on the phone to different departments from 9 am to 4pm daily for over a week just to get an issue sorted which is still not resolved,
