TELKOM pole fell and damaged my Mother's gate, a 3 year old issue

About 3 years ago I very hard tried to get Telkom to come and fix their pole that had started leaning towards my mother's boundary fence. With a service station hardly 300m from our house we managed to get the attention of one of its staff members that periodically come to the area. The Telkom official said the pole is not their responsibility since it has an ESKOM line on it.

I then called upon ESKOM to come and attend to the issue by fixing the pole or replacing it with theirs and reattaching their line. ESKOM officials that had gone to my mother's house said to my 66 year old mother that because the pole is not theirs they cannot do anything about it.

She was stuck with a pole leaning towards her fence and with no more options to explore. We subsequently gave up on the matter.

Fast forward to 2019, in April THE POLE FALL ON MY MOTHER'S PROPERTY AND LEANS SO HARD AGAINST THE GATE THAT SHE CAN NO LONG ACCESS HER PEDESTRIAN, WHICH IS NOW DAMAGED!!!!!!!! On the 15th of April my mother told me to call ESKOM and start documenting the calls in rough hand. Once more they came and confirmed that the pole and line on the pole are both not theirs but belong to TELKOM. We proceeded to call TELKOM from my cell until I ran out of airtime. I then used my work line to address this issue but was told to call numbers like 10210 and 10127, which would not go through as the landline I use is not a TELKOM line. I have no TELKOM phone near me and neither does my mom. Therefore, this started to create problems in communication as my mom lives in a small town where the nearest TELKOM "office" is about 80km away by unreliable public transportation through rural Eastern Cape.

On the 16th I managed to find a number they said is an HR number and maybe they can assist with then relevant numbers to call. I called ********** 747 and they gave me ********** 473. i went round and round in circles for 2 weeks until I just about quit when I was forwarded to to Technical services on the 29 of April 2019. I spoke to a lady at technical services by the name of Siziwe who was very patient and attentive to my query. She took down details of my complaint and asked questions to get clear and concise details for her logging. She then gave me a reference number: 914155. She then urged me to call before 16:00 if my mom says no one has come yet so as to alert TELKOM that this problem had not been attended to yet. Needless to say, 29 April 2019 was the one and only time I ever got attended to by technical services. Between then and the 9th of May i kept being thrown from pillar to post. Holding the line to be answered by the wrong section. Being forwarded to useless department to my concern until my mother went to the police station to report the matter of the pole having fallen, posing danger of hurting passerby's and having damaged her property. The police at Willowvale SAPS recommended that she captures details and names of people she comes in contact with as we pursue this matter and if we still get no joy she should cut down the pole and go back to the police station and lay a charge AGAINST TELKOM. Great idea, if my my was not 66 (old), was not at risk of getting hurt during this cutting down of the pole and in fact after as well as it is right there at the gate as part of the pole would be left hanging over her head as she enters and exits the gate.

On the 9th of May i was eventually given ********** 676 for Open Serve. There the gentleman said he hears and understands my frustration but on their side there is little they can do if my mom is unable to furnish them with the ole number or neighbours that are connected or fed off that pole. Hearing me cry he suggested the 2 alternatives, 1. open a case with the police or 2. write Hello Peter and maybe i might get a move on the issue. I told him I was too tired to try anything new at this point.

I let it rest for about a week then started calling again but to no joy of getting the issue resolved. today i decided to do this Hello Peter thing. I hope I get the attention my mother so deserves.
