Telkom Pole Falls

A Telkom pole has just broken off and fallen, breaking the wall and the fence.

We are struggling to find any number to contact, there is nothing helpful in the Telkom website.

Who can assist with this as peoples phone lines might be impacted.

Hi Tumelo, ***/***5 Onica Sapula Cell: *** Physical Address (Pole Address): 4269 Qadolo Street Zone 4 Pimville Soweto 1809 Gauteng The OpenServe technical guy came, checked the wires and advised that he is not responsible for removing the pole and cords. The pole has still not been removed, it is currently resting on the roof and damaging the roof tiles, if the cord snaps there will be more damage done and people might get hurt. It is blocking the small gate entrance. We would like to know what is the claim process for the damages. I have the photos should you require them. Can this be treated as an emergency ! Kind Regards, Onica Sapula

I called Telkom 2 days in a row and still no help. I do not know how a company can be so pathetic, this is beyond reason. No one has contacted me and the pole is still blocking the gate and laying on the roof tiles.

Hi Onica,

I have escalated the query to the section dealing with the pole removals/replacements. They will make contact to advise. They would normally send a technician our first to assess the damage and what is needed and then they will do the necessary repairs.

Hi Garreth, Thank you for the response. Openserve has already been onsite. Can Telkom bother to advise on the progress, at the very least. We do not even know what process to follow regarding the fixing of the damage caused by the pole. Regards, Onica
