Telkom - please don't ask for a DSL speed upgrade

On 14 Sep 2019 I decided to upgrade my 4mbps DSL to 10mbps - Order # 342699

On 18 Sep 2019 I enquired as to when it will be done. The agent said that is was done on 17 Sept 2019. I was transferred to the Thechnical Agent asked me to re-boot the router: all the lights come on, except for the Internet light that is now a solid RED light.

And here the games started. 10210 transfer me to 10213 as my TIN shows as 4 on the one system and as 10 on the other. This carried on until yesterday (8 days, twice a day) The longest call was 53 minutes.

Yesterday the 2 systems (Accounts & Technical) both report it as 10mbps, but the Account system says the account is active, and the Technical system says it is CLOSED (canceled).

Every time a ticket is raised by an agent but they can't give me the number as it must be send by SMS. These SMS's never reached me.

In desperation, I loaded a fault report on their website (thanks to a MTN ****le). I received a Fault Report on 24 September 2019 (***0) but I have no idea if that was from the website, or from the call centre. I, however, did receive 2 SMS's re power failures that cause the Router to lose the user details and that I should contact 20210 for assistance.

On Saturday I managed to convince the agent to transfer me to the supervisor. He is very friendly, but he can't assist me but will log a ticket. When I explained that I can't earn money without an internet connection he says "I'm making him feel bad", say goodbye and hang up.

Monday the 23rd I tried twice, but once again the 20210/20213 routine and still no ticket numbers.

Today an agent from 20213 phones me to inquire if all is sorted. She asks me to phone 20210. Which I did. And now I find out that I am being billed on the Accounts system for an internet connection and according to the Technical system my internet connection is CLOSED (canceled). The agent logged a ticket (***) and give me the ticket number (which the other agents could not give to me?)

Thanks to a MTN ****le that I borrowed from a friend I have been able to do some of my work.

Based on what I have experienced over the past 2 weeks, I sincerely regret ever having requested a speed upgrade from Telkom.

Will Telkom be NICE and pass a credit for the duration of me not having any internet? I wonder?
