Telkom Personnel Incompetence

Telkom *** We relocated from Durban to Pretoria on 2 January 2020. We went to the local Telkom office in Woodlands and were told they couldn’t do the transfer application for our fibre contract and instruct us to phone 10210 or do an online request. The 10210 was dialled a couple of times and were referred from one department to the other, with no progress. On 8 Jan 2020 I did an online web request for moving the line to our new address and got the online reply that a consultant will contact us within 48hrs, the reference would be the landline number as per our invoice. That date came and gone and so the phoning started all over again. So eventually Siphiwe assisted us, very friendly and knowledgeable individual, he noted that no fibre nor adsl services were available at our new address and informed us that we could either take wireless (which we informed him that we already got a modem) or then cancel the contract, which now would be in our right. He proceeded to cancel but asked me to do it once again online. We received the notification on 15 Jan 2020 @ 14h50; One of our agents will contact you within two to seven days. Please use the below case/reference number to follow up on your cancellation request. TIN***: ***3 Once again nothing. On 27 Jan @08h00, I phoned 10210 and spoke to Uyanda Mangcojwa, very rude individual, he told me that there was nothing on any system, as he was a Snr Associate in the Billing Department, he could also not provide me with a call reference number. On the same day at 12 Noon I tried again and spoke to Uransni, she told me according to the system, yes she found it, an amount of R1283-28 had to be paid before any “further” action could be taken on Telkom side. I asked her if that would be the full and final figure to which she agreed, according to the system. Payment was duly made. Payment notification was send to the 10210 email address. I called the next morning and was told that the payment still did not reflect. Phoned again on 30 Jan and spoke to Fikile Gazu from the billing department. She asked me for proof of payment, which I emailed to her and she telephonically acknowledge receipt thereof. She informed me that we are still owing for January and up until they receive that payment, nothing will be processed nor cancelled. I asked her to check if no notes were made on the system that the amount mentioned above was the full and final settlement? She did not rep**** and just kept quiet, not answering any questions. Frankly this is ridiculous and absurd behaviour from paid employees. SO WHAT NOW TELKOM?
