Telkom paralysed my business

Words can not describe how angry I am with Telkom. In March 2023 my father passed away, and in June 2023 we took over the estate and all of the accounts connected to the estate including the Telkom account. In June 2023 I went to the Telkom store in Bayside Table View to arrange for the Telkom account to be transferred in to my name. At the Telkom store I was assisted by Yonela Kwaza who had started the process of transferring the account, but required some documents which Yonela told me I could send to her by email. I emailed all of the required documents to Yonela as required for the Telkom account transfer. In July 2023 I had not heard back from Yonela so I followed up by email requesting feedback on the status of the Telkom account transfer. Yonela never did come back to me. I tried calling multiple times, but the line was always busy or went unanswered so I left it at that to resolve at a later time in the year. We continued to pay the Telkom account, but in January 2024 the Telkom account was suspended due to an arrears of R579.07 that we were not aware of. We had contined with the payments to Telkom for the amount of R699, but in September 2023 their was a price increase which changed the amount from R699 to R730 per month. We were not aware of the price increase so we unintentionally paid Telkom short. On the 12th of January 2024 the Telkom account was suspended. On the 13th of January 2024 I contacted the Telkom billing department and I was informed that the account was suspended because of a billing issue. I went back to the Telkom store in Bayside Table View, and was assisted by Amber who was very helpful, and informed me of the outstanding amount of R579.07 which was paid immediately. On the 15th of January 2024 I still had no internet which is a serious problem for me as I run my business from home. My business provides online services that are deadline sensitive and critical online technical support. So I can not under any circumstances have no internet. I contacted the Telkom billing department on the 15th of January 2024 to query if the payment was received for the outstanding amount of R579.07, and the Telkom billing department confirmed that they had received the payment. Then I contacted the Telkom technical department who was unwilling to assist, even though I could provide all the security information, and also refused to provide me with a reference number. So I went back to the Telkom store in Bayside Table View to see if I could transfer the Telkom account in the hope that I would be able to get support from the Telkom technical department. I was assisted by a very professional lady at the billing counter. The lady informed me that the transfer process would take about four to five days. She advised me that I could use my order number to contact the Telkom technical department for support. I phoned the Telkom technical department, and to my horror I was told that I have no service under the profile. The lady in Telkom technical told me that she could only assist once the transfer process is completed. This delay will cost my business alot of money, and cause serious damage to my business reputation. The end result is that I am unable to operate for the next four to five days. I will be considering legal options to recover lost revenue and compensation for damages. If you are a business, be very careful of Telkom they feel nothing.
