Telkom Organised Chaos

Two months ago I realised that Telkom had deducted a huge sum off my bank account instead of a very modest debit order amount on a two year mobile contract. The Telkom call centre claimed I had migrated to a larger data plan. After countless emails to ********** (not a single reply), countless calls to the contact centre, after receiving text messages claiming that my complaint had been resolved, I continue to receive texts and phone calls threatening to suspend my line if I do not pay the inflated sums created by Telkom. From one day to the next, these sums have doubled! I get passed from department to department, nobody takes any responsibility, there is no followthrough, there seems to be no relationship between the call centre and the accounts department, there seems to be no chain of command. (I am reading with horror of what others have been through, for even longer periods, having received debilitating credit ratings as a result of Telkom's organised chaos.) I want OUT! I can't believe that Telkom is allowed to get away with this. Surely they must be held accountable.

Thank you Hazel. But I've not only not received a correct invoice, I continue to be debited for money I do not owe. Another R1500 has just gone off my account. I was hoping to get a correct invoice. Under pressure from the harassment by collectors last week I paid what I owed into the 'new' ******* account number with the inflated bill for a data plan I did not request (which one of your call centre people advised). I was told by call centre that the original legal debit order had been closed. Now I'm still being debited. How must I pay my real bills with this going on? Your response is not adequate.
