Telkom order confirmation issues

I completed an online order for a phone line on 03/07/2016, after which the online system said I would receiveda call during business hours in order to confirm the order.

On 04/07/2016 I received a call from ********** (google tells me this is Telkom), I picked up and the call was immediately put down from the other end. I assumed I had taken too long to answer.

Today on 05/07/2016 I received another call from that same number, it rang for a second or two and was put down before I could answer it. 5 minutes later the number called again, I answered immediately - I got silence for a few seconds and then on-hold music. After listening to the on-hold music for 7 minutes and 29 seconds (this being time that I should have been working) the call was suddenly ended from the other end.

How am I to confirm an order if Telkom keeps putting the phone down on me? And why call me only to put me on hold for 7 and a half minutes (without any person greeting me or explaining the call), waisting my work time?

Reviewer Update

I have since placed another online order, and sent 2 emails to the address provided.
Still no reply or progress.

I understand it's nice and easy to have a monopoly over telecoms in South Africa, but you could at least put some effort into your customer service.
