Telkom - One of the "Business Bullies of SA"
<p>I have been in discussions with Telkom Manager at Mall of Africa (Algernon Matthews, aka LG) & acting manager (Tebogo) on multiple occasions. Many promises were made and none of them have materialized. </p> <p>Since the inception of my contracts, Telkom staff could not, port my number successfully the first time and gave me the run-around, capture the correct information for billing, nor could anyone fix the problem since inception. Algernon Matthews, who has also promised on more than one occasion to have the situation remedied, has also failed miserably.</p> <p>It looks as though, Telkom thinks its clients have unlimited funds that they can help themselves to whenever they please. Since inception I have been charged for 4 contracts instead of 2. Telkom has failed to send me initial invoices and all of my ‘itemized bill.’ I have been debited twice in January 2017.</p> <p>As I have tried my best to resolve this matter with Telkom staff at ‘Mall of Africa’ (where the initial contract was taken), with the staff that helped me originally and management with no success, I have taken the liberty to approach the banks and have reversed some of the debit orders and have instructed the bank not to allow any payments to Telkom in excess of our contract value. Can you beleive that Telkom has apparently changed the code and effected another debit order far in excess of what they should receive. This is in black & white. They have effected 3 debit orders in the month of January. </p> <p>It looks as though Telkom is all out to make its customers lives a living hell. I would like to encourage all Telkom customers to look at their bills closely and watch for being cheated by the "Business Bullies of SA"</p> <p>I hope Telkom can assist to resolve the situation as soon as possible with the following:</p> <p>1. Finalise my account from inception to current with supporting documents, so that we can correct any discrepancies.</p> <p>2. Make sure the correct amount is debited from my account.</p> <p>3. Pay for extra charges to the bank.</p> <p>4. The stress and time lost in running around due to the carelessness of Telkom – we can talk about that once we have corrected the basics.</p> <p> </p>
Dear Launa,
Thank you for the response!
Will it be possible to fix a time line as your continuous debit orders (3 in one month) of unreasonable amount is not funny.
Frustrated customer

Dear Launa,
I have still not heard from the store manager, however I have now heard from a 'collector,' appointed by Telkom. How is that for service???

Dear Launa
I have still not had my billing issue resolved. Between the Telkom Manager from 'Mall of Africa' and the rest of Telkom all I get is PAY UP OR ELSE YOU WILL BE DISCONNECTED - and I WAS DISCONNECTED.
You are quite right -
PAY UP - even though TELKOM BILLING IS INACCURATE
PAY UP - even though there is NO ITEMISED BILLING TO CONFIRM CALLS.
The manager at Telkom has NOT been able to resolve this since September 2016. Is there any other COMPETENT PERSON within Telkom that can resolve this issue?

Telkom, one of the Business Bullies in SA is not going to stop any time soon if WE don't do something about it.
In this day and age can you beleive that Telkom cannot get an invoice correct. I don't beleive this is real. I beleive this is deliberate to frustrate people so that they just forget about the bills and just pay whatever Telkom presents to us. If you don't pay EVEN IF THEY OWE YOU, YOU WILL BE DISCONNECTED.
I urge every Telkom client to scrutenize their accounts as I beleive all they want to do is exploit people purely by frustration.
I have recently received a bill confirming that they have granted me partial refund (even though it should have been for the full period). Guess what! another debit order goes through.
Dear Launa and Algernon Matthews (LG) - THE TELKOM MANAGER - MALL OF AFRICA, can you please explain this and also explain why this is taking so long to resolve.
I once again urge every Telkom client to scrutenize their bill. This company is really taking South Africans to be complete fools. The sad part is that they are getting away with it as more people get frustrated and forget about it. Also check your itemised billing as you could be charged for calls you have not made and to numbers that you don't even know. TAKE A STAND AND EMPOWER YOURSELF.

Dear Telkom
This is an open challenge to anyone within Telkom, ONE OF THE BUSINESS BULLIES OF SA, that has the ability to resolve a billing situation. This would include managers, senior managers, etc. See below a response from Telkom Manager of which, 9 days later, I still have not had a response! Launa who responded initially, has also disappeared.
Good day Mr Beesunlal
Looking into and will revert back shortly.
Kind regards
Algernon (LG)
