Telkom on its last legs

My phone line has been so noisy that its basically unusable. Its been this way for a week now and I've been trying to establish when it will be fixed. Initially I was told that there are a shortage of technicians available (can't see why that is my problem?) Then on Friday I was told that a technician had been assigned and was working on the problem. I was told that the problem should be fixed by Saturday. Well, its now Sunday and its still not fixed. I can now see why people are cancelling Telkom lines, seems a fixed line is less reliable than a cellphone these days.
