Telkom : Not Senior Citizen friendly
Telkom converted all cabled lines to the wireless lines. They converted my mum's phone . Over the last 6 months the device has been giving issues . You cannot make calls , when you do manage to get through you cannt hear the other person and vice versa. I decided to take the device in to the Telkom store in Newcastle . A lady by the name of Esme Moore , met us at the door , and said go and buy your own cell phone . We no longer support these devices . A huge disappointment , as the units were just handed out . I called customer care , technical said that i need to contact sales to find out if the unit is still under warranty. I contacted sales and had the massive misfortune of speaking to a person canned Tyler Napier . After explaining the situation to him , he said the device can only be bought from the Telkom shop . So i again explained the situation to him , but he was adamant go and buy a device from Telkom. He was disinterested , and almost annoyed in his tone and mannerism. My mum is not tech savvy and with the line line the primary means of communications , how can Telkom justify ,handing out poor handsets and even more poor and deplorable service ??
