Telkom not implementing debit order, denies deal over overdue account that debit order would have covered.

Yesterday, Mondo mobile offered me a telkom mobile internet deal. They wasted my time with the application, just for me to be notified yesterday evening that my application is unsuccessful. Today, they said it was because there was an outstanding balance on my Telkom account.

After getting an ADSL line from Telkom, we had to go through hoops to get our first account from them. By that time it was already "overdue".

MONTHS AGO, I logged into their online customer portal and requested that a debit order be put through on my account.

This NEVER HAPPENED, and when I realised this, I transferred funds to cover the account. Currently, my account is in credit with about R500. It also takes days to reflect a payment via credit card, even though it is an instant transaction.

In the time that we've had our line, Telkom also randomly suspended our line, for no reason, after we moved our internet package to another ISP. We were not credited for the time we spent without internet and they denied that they suspended it until our ISP sent us proof.

My Telkom Mobile account gets paid via debit order and ALWAYS gets paid.

My credit score is excellent, now Telkom wants to mess with this. They didn't even do an enquiry on my credit history for this deal.

I didn't get the Telkom Mobile deal and wasted about an hour of my life on this nonsense.

I don't think it's safe to have a debit order if this is they way Telkom does business.

Telkom, you just lost business from a good customer.
