Telkom = no service = legal action

took out the R200 per month with free router and 10gig anytime and 5 gig nighttime surfer data deal in April 2016. They deducted R249 when the service was activated but only gave 800meg of anytime and 400meg nighttime data. Complained about this, but with no success. May they deducted R249 again and only gave 5 gig of anytime data and 5 gig of nighttime data. Once again Icomplained with no success. The same happened in June. After numerous complaints on their customer service line ( and yes, I have reference numbers) and consultants sometimes even telling me there is no reference number and I must use the date, going to their regional office without success, trying to get a hold of any senior manager and even the CEO without success (maybe I should post on his Linkedin profile), I post here in the hope that they will see it.

Dear telkom, The following action have been taken by me to resolve this matter because you refuse to sort this out and do not take any accountability of your wrongdoing. As all my information is based on facts, I will go public as well with a Full page ad in Rapport.

1. The contract is for R200per month ( I have the date and there is a recording stating this as well as other questions asked by me), and you deduct R249 per month. This is an ******* action on your part as I only gave you permission (recorded and hardcopy) to deduct R200 per month. As you have been informed of this and you just keep doing it, I must conclude that you are in fact *****ing my money which is a ******** offence. I am in the proceess of legal consultation to lay a charge of theft agains Telkom, your CEOand also the Sales Manager.

2. I will also include a claim for compensation for every minute I had to focus my attention on this when calling and holding on sometimes for 30 minutes. This time I had to stop working and lost time completing other tasks.

3. I will submit a official document to ICASA today with all evidence, phonecalls.

4. I will also lodge a official complaint regarding the fact that you are in total disregard of the Consumer Protection Act.

As you are not available to resolve this matter and clearly do not care, I do not expect you to call me and discuss this as it is too late and it is time that you learned this valuable lesson on behalf of all consumers out there who cannot fight you. You cannot sell a service and then back it up with poor after sales or even faulty loads. Forget about your meetings and seminars and focus only on your clients and complaints. Every customer out there is in actual fact working for you referring your service to others. You dont need marketing meetings and campaigns - you need a satisfied salesforce (customers). This will grow you beyond measure. Fire all the people with plans and only keep those focussed on people and service.

I will drive this and my complaint and action taken will teach you this lesson. In the end I want all consumers to have the power to do this and hopefully then, when legal action can be used by more, you will realise that you have to get out of the boardroom and kitchen and get your hands dirty looking after customers. When your focus is customers, any place you are where there is no customers is the wrong place to be. You can have the world at your fingertips, but then the customer must be safely in your hand. At the moment, your hands are closed with nothing in them...
