Telkom. No internet. Landline disconnected but paid monthly... POOR SERVICE!!

On the 12th of March 2019 our Fibre connection at home was disconnected/discontinued for lack of a better word.

I called Telkom from our landline the morning of the 13th of March - I was transferred from pillar to post. Every time I tried to ask what the problem was each and every consultant was giving me a different reason.

NOT only that but they blatantly refused to give me thorough service because I was calling on behalf of my mother who is the account holder and happens to live abroad.

However, having notified them that the account holder herself had requested me to do so. They told me my mother has to send an email and notify them that she is abroad and gives full authority to my sister and I to handle issues relating to the fibre and internet issues.

She emailed Telkom and it took Telkom 7DAYS to get back to her. The response? A lousy, flimsy email stating that she can't do it over email and she needs to come to the store when she is in the country.

Now, let me tell you. Telkom has been receiving their nice R890.68 monthly fee from my mother who has not even complained about that but their service to us has been horrible.

Until this day 11 June 2019, Telkom has not been able to email or sms my sister or I (which permission was granted by the account holder) the new password or reset password for the internet to work.

Secondly, our landline just stopped working. Today I called in. I spoke to a lady called Greshana who was adamant on calling me "DEAR" after I requested her politely not to and then in turn told me that I am not calm. Typical of Telkom customer care employees anyway, nothing new.

She then goes on to tell me that our landline service has been cancelled and she cant tell me the reason why in case she is inaccurate I should call sales.

Now my mother should go and re-apply for her own number to be given back to her and a new device after they were told by Telkom that we would not need a new device with the fibre? What joke is this? You want your money but not rendering the service you are paid for?

Lastly, what provision are you making for South African's who work or live abroad and leave their families behind to "enjoy" your services and then you lack in this department? Is this a way to make sure we change service providers?

Telkom you need to pull your socks up!!
