TELKOM NIGHTMARES
I am uncertain where to begin, as my frustration has reached an all time high with telkom. I am a customer since 2015. This time however I am definitely leaving. Every 2 years I have thee opportunity to upgrade my cell contract. In line with previous years, telkom has always found a way to make my life difficult. I had done an upgrade voa 10213 on Feb 09 2021. Process is relatively quick as you are signing up and telkom are excellent for new or repeat business. Receive sms confirmation about order, even something from a courier. You can imagine my surprise when i get a call thsy delivery is Thursday the 11th. Cut to delivery and the courier arrives. Checks my ID then wants to rica, mind you no sim in parcel as it is an upgrade. I cannnot produce the address for Rica as they have an address that isnt mine. The courier leaves, I proceed to call telkok 3 times om the 11th. Am assured by call 3, someone will feedback. Get in touch with courier and they advise parcel will be returned to telkom. Friday the 12th and no workd from telkom so I call again. This time its a helpful consultant, however the info turns out to be eother false or incorrect. I am told that a mail has been sent and the courier will amend accordingly. Get done there and call the courier, they advise telkom infor os incorrect and parcel in fact will be returned. Call telkom yet again, this time to cancel. Spend roughly 15 minutes, am assured a request is sent to the person who initiated. I query whether this is done immediately amd am assured it will be. Call in again, figuring I'll go to the store. Am told on this occasion that the request is visible, however takes 24 hours to be done. Now am told only to visit a store by the 14th. Over the years telkom has constantly dropped the ball and provided terrible service to me as an individual. I am to blame as i should have learnt the first 2 times. I recently interacted with a different cellular provider and was pleased and surprised at the efficiency and level of service. This is to those who are enticed by Telkom. They will be good at getting you signed up. Once you are a client, u are less than insignificant to them and they are never helpful. There are a few diamonds amongst the stones, however heed my warning and stay away from telkom if you want ease of service ans peace of mind.
I will gladly remove or retract, the day telkom provides better service to me.
