Telkom Nightmare - Cancellation of ADSL Line

In May 2017 I sent a request to cancel a Telkom ADSL Line. After months of follow up emails (with no replies), trips to Telkom at Fourways Crossing and calls to the call center (all the while paying the monthly invoices to avoid a bad credit rating) Telkom advised that they only processed the line cancellation on the 15 January 2018 and I was going to be reimbursed R 731.58 (I paid them in total R 2,223.62 from June 2017 to March 2018 for a service that I was no longer using and requested to be cancelled almost a year ago).

I submitted a dispute on the 09/04/18 - the staff at Fourways Crossing could not be less interested or helpful during this process - the manager being the worst of them.

I received a call today (19/04/18) from Telkom requesting my bank account details, upon querying the reimbur*****t amount I find out that Telkom had rejected my dispute without notifying me (the agent calling advised that Telkom should done so). I am now sitting out of pocket for over R1,000.00.

To me this is paramount to theft from Telkom - you submit a request to cancel a service - Telkom does not act on this request - you have to pay the monthly invoices to avoid a bad credit rating - Telkom only reimburses you a third of what you have paid them. So in summary, due to Telkom's incompetence I have been disadvantaged.

There are many telecommunication providers that are cheaper and provide a much better client service experience - stay away from Telkom!!
