Telkom negative review

I have been persistently harassed by Telkom and co. for around 2 years. I truly am at a loss as to whom I should contact in order to conclude the matter. Telkom claim I owe them money from 2017. Prior to that I had a Telkom landline in my home in Port Elizabeth. Cancellation documents were sent and all was in my view concluded. A few months later I was contacted by Telkom saying that I owed them money for the month after the line was meant to have been cancelled. I asked whether they received my cancellation documents, but no person at the company could explain what happened. I contacted numerous people and managers etc. The only response I received, to any question at all, was "you have to pay it". I refused to pay it until an explanation was given. A month later the "debt collectors" contacted me (DC Fourie). Hence I yet again explained the situation. Further, I resent the proof of payment and the cancellation document that I submitted to Telkom when I cancelled the line in the first place. The "debt collectors" then informed me that the matter would be concluded and that I would receive confirmation of this within a few days. Of course, no confirmation was sent to me.

Now, for the last 6 months I have been harassed by a different "debt collector" - almost daily via phone and sms. May I just say that the invasive, constant contact has become in my view extremely distasteful. While at work my phone rings constantly with someone from NuDebt insisting that I pay immediately or I will be reported to the Credit Bureau. I receive at least to sms's a day saying I have 72 hrs to pay or else... Then two hours later I'll receive another sms saying I have to pay pithing 48hrs or else.

Short of asking a lawyer for assistance, I am at a loss as to how this matter can be resolved. My feeling is that the public should continue to raise these matters.

I am a profession person who pays bills, pays taxes, works and just live everyone else. I am simply unwilling to accept that Telkom cannot sort this matter out. As it stands, I would not recommend Telkom to any person.
