Telkom, need I say more?
As many other Telkom clients, I have reached the end of my tether.
On 31 January 2018 my landline went down and Telkom was not able to restore it. After paying a heck of a lot of money for mobile data, I had no option but to cancel my contract in March last year as it just was not financial viable to keep on waiting for restoration of services, which was clearly not going to happen. The cancellation was done on the online portal, as advised by the Telkom consultants. I clearly indicated in the cancellation notice that the reason for cancellation is that Telkom is not able to deliver the services that we agreed upon.
However, Telkom continued to bill me and I have literally logged dozens of calls to their customer line, all to no avail. I have tried sending e-mails, chatted to online agents, visited their stores, all to no avail. All this whilst I had no services from Telkom since January last year.
In the meanwhile I found out that Telkom black-listed me, without informing me as requested by the National Credit Act. I REALLY don’t know what to do anymore, as even the agents gives me different stories. One tells me that my balance is 0 and that my account is closed, whilst another insists that I still owe them money. How on earth am I supposed to get my name of the blacklist if they can’t even get their stories straight?
I just don’t know anymore. I just wish I could speak to one person in Telkom who actually cares enough to help me.
