Telkom - My letter of disappointment

I recently moved. A week before I moved I filled in Telkom's Move My line form for them to move my ADSL line to the new address. On the 3rd of June the technician called me asking if he can come and move my line. When we discussed the appropriate time for me to meet him at my home he informed me that his job card stated that he must only install my telephone line not an ADSL line. I immediately called the contact centre asking for clarification where I was told he was given the wrong job card and that installing just a telephone line and not an ADSL line would mean I would have to pay extra for an ADSL line to be installed. The call centre agent advised that she would rather book a new technician with the correct information and job card to ensure I don't have to pay additional costs. I happily agreed to that because I don't want to pay extra due to a small stuff up on Telkom's side , up until now i was very patient. Today , 5 June 2019, I called Telkom asking when the new technician will be installing my ADSL line just to be informed my order has been completely canceled and cannot be put back in to the "in progress" for a technician to come and install the line. I asked for a manager to call me back.

Eva called me back , she was very kind and understanding , but she broke the bad news to me that i will be waiting for 7-14 working days for their IT team to change my order back to the inprogress status , from there it will take 24-48 hours for it to be assigned to a technician , and from there it would take 24-48 hours for a technician to call me to set up a new installation date.

Meaning I will have to wait a month for my line to be moved due to Telkom's stuff up, I've been with them for 2 years now and I've never had any issues, but now nearing the end date of my contract it still seems like forever before i can tell them to stuff their business and move to an internet supplier that actually walks the extra mile when they are the ones that caused a situation. I was also advised that i will have to pay my bill at the end of the month even though i had not had the service otherwise the installation will be put on hold until the account is paid in full.

So I ask the question Telkom , why is it that I am inconvienianced because you made a mistake ? I am an understanding person , I know stuff up's happen , but why is it that I am understanding towards your situation but I was given a blind eye towards my situation.

I am a student studying online , so how am I suppose to better my future and keep paying your bills when the simple service I have paid on time each month ( some months I even overpay to make sure that there is rather a credit on my account than a debit) is not even active ?

How is it that I am paying for your mistakes?

In retrospect I feel like a absolute idiot for actually giving you good publicity when all you really deserve is bad publicity ?

I know this wont even be read and attended to , as i see you have not even had the decency to reply any of the other upset customers, but hear this , you can turn a blind eye for now , but this will come and bite you in the ass.

When you lose all your customers , please dont wonder why , this is why Telkom.

You have disappointed not only me , but thousands of other customers , and you can't keep running a customer orientated business if all the customers are dissatisfied.

Thank you for showing me that there are much better suppliers out there than you and I look forward to taking my business elsewhere.
