Telkom must be one of the world's most *********** telcos

On 29-02-2016, I visited the Telkom Sea Point branch. There, on my behalf, a Telkom representative faxed and emailed a service cancellation form for 021 422 ***X and 021 424 ***X to the cancellations department. I have the documents to prove this.

Soon after I cancelled, there was a problem with my internet on 021 424 ***X so I was told that in order to rectify the problem, I had to reinstate the service as no queries were entertained during the 30-day written notice period.

I did not reinstate the service for 021 422 ***X so this service should have been terminated by 29-03-2016.

On 14-03-2016, a Telkom representative at the Sea Point branch faxed a service cancellation form – on my behalf – for 021 424 ***X to the cancellations department. I have the documents to prove this. This service should have been terminated by 14-04-2016.

Despite a Telkom represenative helping me with the cancellation of both accounts, I continue to be billed for all services on both lines.

On 26-04-2016, R750 was debited from my bank account as I signed authorisation when I got my Telkom account. I now have to keep that account below R750 so that it is not debited again.

I am currently residing outside of South Africa and cannot find a number to contact Telkom from overseas. I have sent two emails to the cacellation departments – with the documents that prove the cancellation forms were sent. To date, I have recieved no response.

To make matters worse, on 30-05-2016, I received a summons from Telkom for an amount of R2312.62.

Instead of issuing me with a summons, Telkom should credit me for the amount that I have been erroneously charged – and that was debited from my bank account.

I simply do not know how to terminate both Telkom services with immediate effect. I wonder if a Telkom representative will see this and contact me.
