Telkom Mobile's racketeering. A side business venture.

After the 24 month contract with Telkom Mobile was over, I opted to cancel. I cancelled the contract by submitting the cancellation form to the Cancellations department via email on 03 Jan 2018. I did not submit an ID copy so I wasn't too surprised when Telkom Mobile debited my account for Jan. I again submitted the cancellation form this time with my ID copy and I was informed that cancellation will take 21 days and that I would receive a phone call to finalise it. Okay. The 21 days pass and no phone call. Then Telkom Mobile again debits my account for February. I complain to Telkom Mobile and they promise to escalate the matter. They ask me to submit the documents to cancellation again, which I do. The 21 days pass and Telkom Mobile charges me again, this time for March. This has been 600 bucks each month now. So I call them up again asking what is going on and the person on the other side tells me that a cancellation was never lodged and that my account was still very much active. The good sir promises to escallate the matter but encourages me to again submit the documents so that it is on file. Come April and, you guessed it, my account is debited again. Now at this point I am pretty ****ed and they put me in contact with this Samantha Abrahams lady who apologises for the inconvenience and promises to look into the matter herself. She asks me to forward all electronic correspondence to her to find where the hiccup occured, so I forward the email string to her. Please note that each time a person has gotten back to me they acted like I've never submitted a cancellation request and each time I had to provide my personal info, street address, affected numbers, etc. During the very month of April I receive a call from a lady saying I am due for an upgrade and she immediately tells me about the great deal Telkom Mobile has. I tell the nice lady that I do not wish to engage with her on the topic and that the contract were to have been cancelled by now. She too tells me that my account with Telkom Mobile is still very much active. So I hit up someone at Telkom Mobile again and this time it is a woman called Roxanne Diegaardt. She is apparently appalled by what I've been through and tells me to not worry about it and that I will receive a call within 24 hours confirming the cancellation. Come May and lo and behold, my account is debited again. This time I'm logging in to my account on fnb.co.za trying to see if I can stop or even reverse the deductions. It seems I cannot. So I plan on heading to a branch to hear from them. At this point I find myself too busy to get to a branch and subsequently forget about the entire ordeal. Come 01 July on a Sunday and guess what, a R709 deduction. I will be going into a branch come the morning and get legal aid to claim all the money Telkom Mobile stole from me. It is clear that Telkom is racketeering and ******ing those who wish to have nothing to do with them.
