Telkom Mobile will charge you hundreds of rands for paying early!!!
I paid my account on the 24th and it reflected on that day on Telkom's bank account because we both use ABSA, this was 6 days before the due date (30th). I have done so for the last million years since I took the first contract with Telkom. I've never missed a payment. I spoke to the consultant and requested that he gives me contact details for a manager because I am not prepared to pay R200 for nothing in these difficult times. Manager did not really help. In the last 24 months, I have paid Telkom in Excess of R45,000, always at least 5 days early, surely a business that appreciates customers would appreciate an early payer, BUT NOT TELKOM. They charged me R203 for paying early, saying they couldn't collect debit order. Which debit order? I have been paying you directly for a thousand years!!!
If you still want me as a customer, you must understand that I can’t spend a cent more for no particular reason. Furthermore, I need assurance that this amount has never been charged on my monthly billing in the last 12 months because I personally called Telkom long time ago to say I need debit order deactivated and I will be paying directly to their account – a promise I have never ever failed to honor. I have a right to pay anyway I want to, as long as it is before the due date. So, I should never pay R200 when I am not in breach of contract.
