Telkom Mobile WiFi over charging for services not rendered
WiFi: R899.00 per month for uncapped WiFi is a pretty good deal. My daughter signed up for it last November and in March Lock-down (Covid) happened. She is a commission earner and not an essential service so could not work at all until Level 2. She was trying to pay for her WiFi as that was the only entertainment she had as she did not have DSTV or radio/Hi-Fi or anything else. I stand under correction, but she was cut off/service temporarily ceased around June, until such time as she could catch up. Her account is now on R6495.70 and cannot commit to a definite amount every month due to only earning commission but she will pay as much as she can. I noticed that she is still being charged right up until October for a service she is not receiving. This is nonsense. I have written to them and had no response. I am livid. The whole country was in lock-down as per the Government. 3.2 million people lost their jobs, never-mind their cars, homes, etc. How can they charge for something that they are not providing? All I want is for them to credit her for the months she did not have WiFi so that the amount is legit and reasonable and she can start paying it off with my help. Is that too much to ask? I don't think so. No service, no pay.
