Telkom mobile staff / Huawei P Smart sucks
After the wonderful reviews and raving about the Huawei brand, as well as using my son’s P8 lite for a short while, I decide to make the switch from Samsung to Huawei. I went into the Telkom store to purchase the P10 lite, but the salesman had such great things to say about the P smart model, that I opted to go with this instead. The budget was within my limit so my excitement got the better of me, as well as the fact that the screen size is the same as my S6.
I was using a Samsung S6 and asked the salesmen for a phone that is in line with the S6 in terms of features and speed (I was aware that the camera isn’t the same but was willing to take it anyway). The salesmen told me he had another client who is a business woman and she is on various social networks most of the day, yet the battery lasts her a day and a half.
I hardly use any social networks beside whatsapp and facebook (only at night and sometimes during the day) and don’t use it as much, yet the battery is at 35% before noon each day. The faults are as follows:
1. The battery which is meant to last a decent time simply isn’t lasting near what is advertised. 2. It constantly jerks and acts like a person with Parkinson’s disease. 3. It freezes and reboots while I am in the middle of typing up important notes, happened 5 times in the short 2 weeks that I have it. 4. The touch/swipe sensitivity is not up to the standard one would expect from a smart phone in this category.
On the 7th day, I went back to the Telkom store, because I realized that I was either misinformed of the value of this product or I am carrying a “dud” of a phone. The technician who was not interested in helping me, said its normal for a smart phone’s battery to last half a day especially over wi-fi and mobile data. Now, I may not be tech savvy in its entirety, but I am certainly not foolish enough to believe that, simply because I have been using a smart phone for as long as they have become available on the market.
Coming from a 2 year happy and satisfactory experience with my Samsung S6, and having read some wonderful reviews online, I sincerely thought I will enjoy my experience switching, but I am utterly disappointed in this phone and the service received from your Centurion branch technician.
