Telkom mobile shamelessly *****s your money

Prior to leaving the country for 2 years, I cancel my Telkom mobile data contract in-store and receive a reference number for the transaction.despite cancelling almost 2 weeks before month end the consultant tells me that I will still be charged for the next month as the billing run was already finalised. I was not happy about this, but accept it.<br> big surprise, Telkom mobile continues to debit my account despite the contract being cancelled (no penalties were applicable as the minimum term had expired ). I email the call centre and after 3 attempts at getting assistance, I am told that as the consultant cannot phone an international number to talk to me to do a security check, they can't help me. I reply and explain that no security check is necessary as the contract was already cancelled and their shocking admin and the fact that they can't make international calls is not my problem - they are making unauthorised debits, which is *****ing. I give them 5 working days to resolve. No word. I send a follow up on the last day, no response. It is now a full week after that. I am now referring the case to the ombudsman and am contemplating whether I should open a charge of theft??
