Telkom Mobile Refund Nightmare

Just before Christmas 2016 my old cell phone broke and I decided to phone Telkom to order a new mobile phone on contract (the Huawei P9 Lite on special). The next day I phoned in to hear when delivery would take place only to find out that this would be in 2 weeks time. On 28 Decmber I went to the local Telkom store and app**** for and got the P9 Lite there. When I got home I phoned Telkom Mobile and cancelled my telephonic order stating that I did not want to wait anothe 10 days before I received my phone. They said it was too late to stop the first payment of R249, but that the phone would not be delivered and that I would get a refund in 5 to 21 working days. The phone was not delivered (so i got no SIM and no cell number).

However, the first payment did go through on 29/12/2016, BUT I have yet to receive the refund of R249.

I phoned Telkom Mobile on the following dates regarding the refund:

1. 28/12/2016: Spoke with Pumzile who said it was too late to stop the deduction from my account but assured me that I would get the refund in 5 to 21 working days (Ref: MJO ********** 2002).

2. 17/1/2017: Spoke to the Telkom Mobile Sales people (Case Number ********** 0 was provided).

3. 16/2/2017: Spoke with Sherilee (same Case Number: ********** 0) and to my great surprize received a call from Telkom Mobile the very next day asking which colour phone I wanted with my order!

4. 1/03/2017: Received an SMS from the Telkom Mobile Back Office team asking me to contact the call centre and "provide us with the reference number when the pre-debit order = R249 was debited from your account".

5. 1/3/2017: Received another SMS one minute later stating the case had been resolved!

6. 1/3/2017: Phoned the call centre and spoke with Msundo and supervisor Eusebia about the SMSs and gave the ref on my bank statement (original R249 deduction) - MJO ********** 2002. Also asked why the SMS stating that case had been resolved? Eusebia promised to send an email to the Telkom Mobile Back Office asking for a real resolution (i.e. refund of the original R249). I requested they call me directly but apparently the Back Office are not allowed to call out. ???

5. 10/2/2017: Phoned again and got no useful answer. Decided to turn to HelloPeter instead.

PLEASE HELP BEFORE I GO START RAVING MAD!!!
