Telkom Mobile not delivering my cellphone
I placed an order for a cellphone via Telkom online application page on 05 October 2018. I then received a call from one of their sales representative and I gave him the rest of my details, who also advised that I would receive my order within 7 working days. I later received an email advising that my order has been placed. Telkom debited my account with an amount of R499.00 on 10 October 2018.
I then received an sms on 15 October with an order reference number, stating that I should expect communication regarding delivery of my order withing 24 to 48 hours. I sent 2 emails to ********** as notification that my delivery address has been changed, to which I did not receive any response.
I then called all the Telkom call centre numbers on 17 October 2018 seekingan update on the delivery of my phone and was sent from pillar to post. I was told to contact Telkom's nominated courier company, CourieIT, which I did. CourierIT advised that they did not have any record of the reference number that I had given them. By close of business on 17 October 2018, nobody at Telkom Mobile could tell me when I would receive my phone, despite my plea that the phone was extremely urgent. I called their complaints department on ********** and was promised that the sales person who loaded my order on 05 October would call me back, which did not happen.
If Telkom had not promised to deliver the phone to me within 7 working days, I would not have app**** for this contract. Now, I am without a phone and yet Telkom has already debited my account. Telkom should stop lying to people and give us the correct turn around time.
