I took out 2 sim only data contracts, having spoken to their agents and explained in detail that I would need to later cancel one contract as I only need 1 temporarily as my father had gone on a work course..

The agent explained that I would be able to cancel at no cost as long as I give one month's notice as these would be month to month contracts.

NOW THAT I'M READY TO CANCEL THE AGENT ON THE PHONE TELLS ME THAT I AM ON 24 MONTHS CONTRACTS AND ARE BEING Charged 1600 rand to cancel. Which is ****************... How am I being charged after I explicitly explained to your agents I would need a contract thag would enable me to cancel. Why does Telkom sell customers lies and only to go back on its word, trusting solely on the fact that you'll never interact with the same call centre agent.
