Telkom Mobile has greatly dissapointed and inconvenieced me. I am shocked and still waiting.

I have been on a contract service with Telkom Mobile for approximately 6 years now. I am of a fixed contract (24 months) and this service was suddenly suspended on 5 December. At the Telkom store the Consultant told me that someone made a note centrally that said "No longer interested". I have not given any notice to Telkom to stop my contract. I was recently up for an upgrade but I was not interested. Surely not being interested in an upgrade cannot be reason to suspend my contract without notice, even if it has reached the 24 months? The service should just go on as it is. My number was previously ported from Vodacom, and apparently because of that it will take longer to reinstate some service on my number. I had this number since 2000. I do not want a new number, I want my own cellphone number back . I was given a sim card at the Telkom stored and told to wait and the Consultant said she would be in contact. She has my e-mail address. It is now a week later and I still have no service, and friendly as she was initially, she has not answered me back on e-mail. I cannot go to a new provider and open a new contract with them with my own number, as I have no active number to take to them. I am just waiting and waiting. For a week now. I was told that my number will now revert back to a pay as you go contract. Thus I am losing all my stored up free minutes and my data that I had for the month. And I am now forced to take out a new 24 month contract again with whichever cellphone company. So I want to know how can someone just decide to end my contract and my service and my number, just like that, and there are no repercussions for them, despite causing me the greatest inconvenience? I am appalled.
