Telkom Mobile freezing of paid-up contracts

Looking at the sheer number of negative reviews, I don't know whether it is even worth writing this review, as I don't believe it will receive attention from Telkom. I have 4 contracts with Telkom Mobile. 1 for me, 1 for my wife and 1 for each of our children. I have been a slavishly paying customer for probably 10 years, non-stop, if not longer. Yesterday I receive a sms statingthat my account has been "suspended due to collection". My June invoice amount of R3515.69 has been fully paid on 30 June. The invoice for July is R4550.05, which is below my crdeit limit of R4600. I have just spent the last almost 5 hours at Telkom Garden Route Mall in George, for them to sort out the issue. In this time in the shop, the manager not once came out of his/her office to attend to my problem. The issue was logged on Telkom's system, escalated, calls made to the call center, etc. etc, etc. Admitting to the mistake on their side, the simple and easy answer is that our service would be restored within 72 hours. Me, relying heavily on my phone for performing my job, as well as spending more than half a working day in the Telkom shop, my wife, being an estate agent, fully dependent on her phone for contacting her existing customers, and even more important, new customers contacting her and my 2 20 year old daughters driving from Stellenbosch to George, relying on their phone for safety and security, all left in the dark for 72 hours, simply because we a faithfull paying slaves to a company who does not care about the level of service they provide. Questions! : 1. Bound by the agreement between Telkom and myself, I have an obligation to pay my bill each month. If not, my service is blocked, sometimes even with paying dues. What obligation does Telkom have to render the services whish I pay for? 2. If I am not satisfied with the service I receive, do I have the option to cancel my contracts, without being penalised? They can take back the devices I still have outstanding monthly payments on, as I will get new devices from the new service provider. 3. Do I have any case to claim for loss of income during the time Telkom have ********ly suspended my accounts?

Looking forward to any insights.

Reviewer Update
This issue was escaleted to the manager at the customer care call center. As not even Telkom Garden Route Mall have direct contact wirh this manager, it is completely impossible for me to contact him/her. This manager was suppose to call me this afternoon, but needless to say, that has not happened. I have now spent a total of 6 hours in the Telkom stire and am no closer to a solution than when I first walked into this store. The service level at Telkom is shocking, to say the least.
