Telkom Mobile Data Overcharged

I have two data contracts on a single Billing Account Number with Telkom Mobile.

I am contracted to pay Telkom R 199 in respect of the one data contract. During October 2016 out of the blue Telkom passed a debit of R 905 on that contract and proceeded to deduct R 1 010.46 from my bank account on 30 October 2016. This is R 682.46 in excess of the R 328.00 I am contracted to pay every month..

My first effort to resolve this matter ended in the call centre agent informing me that a debit of R 905.00 had been passed against my account. When I asked why he was unable to explain.

I refused to accept that and on 10 November I went into a Telkom store where I was informed that they - the store - had nothing to do with collections and that I should phone into the call centre. After I insisted that they - the store - call the call centre. At 13:20 a call was made from my phone. After about two minutes the call centre agent spoke to me and admitted that they had deducted more than they should have had and that I would be refunded R 682.46 directly into my bank account. I was given a reference number ********** 3.
By 18 November 2016 no refund was received so I once again at 9:13 called the call centre. I spoke to an Amandys this time and again I was not given a straight answer but was told the refund would occur. Needless to say nothing happened after that.

On 1 December 2016 I again phoned the callcentre and Spoke to Nandipha at 12:12. She assured me that I would be refunded and that she would call me back; she even asked for an alternative number.
Since I had no joy by 9 December 2016 I again called the call centre at 13:49 and spoke with Njabula regarding the resolving of this matter. Since I was not happy with Telkom's call centre service I requested to speak to his supervisor. after waiting about 10 minutes (the total call lasted 28 mins 45 sec) I was informed that his supervisor was busy and I should write an email to her.

I wrote an email and sent it to her; for good measure I resent the email a day later.
and guess what no response.
Today I attempted to 'chat' with an agent online. I was busy typing my response to him when suddenly a message flashed on screen that due to the fact that i did not respond immediately the chat was being terminated. Can't think how the agent could think he can interrupt a chat via keyboard - not voice. Score one for the Rude Boy at Telkom.

Undeterred I started a second chat and well this time the agent stated he would allow me to put my case and give me a chance to do so. I was still typing my message away when suddenly questions flashed on screen. Again I was expected to abruptly respond to his questions. Needless to say that chat was fruitless. Telkom has for November 2016 debitted R 905 to my account.
My attitude towards this is that Telkom had a contract with me for R 199.00 per month and exceeding that amount tantamounts to *****.

Petsakis
