Telkom Mobile

Hi there,

After being debited almost R6000 over a period of 2 months for a contract sim card I don't use, and a phone that is supposed to cost R610,

I went to the bank and put a stop debit on Telkom. I proceeded to contact them and have myself removed from their debit order system and make manual payments. I get paid on the date of the debit order. They told me I will be debited each month and they can't remove me from their debit order system.

Payment needs to be made 10 days before my debit date in order for the debit not to go off, should it go off and fail as it will, A fee of R200 extra will be payable each time.

Their service is pathetic to say the least!

Good Morning Juanell,

Please be informed that all Telkom Mobile contracts are based on a Debit Order agreement and files are sent to the banks for payments 7 days before the due date. Any manual payment that has not interfaced before files are sent to the banks will not prevent the Debit Order request already submitted to the banks and you will remain liable for bank charges and the Debit Order rejection fee that are incurred.

You need to ensure that your current account is fully paid at the beginning of every month so that the account will not be submitted for Debit Order payment for the month.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Regards,

Busi

Telkom Social Media Team

Best regards,
