Telkom misleading the public to purchase their gel screen protector,which doesn't work

I took an upgrade contract in March this year at Telkom Gateway.I was advised by the Telkom employee named Megan to put a gel protection screen guard ,so if I drop my phone ,my screen will not Crack.Today ,I dropped my phone and the screen cracked and when contacted them today ,they are telling me that they can't do anything because it's over three months and that Megan no longer work for them,so they are not going to take responiblity for him.Telkom is liable for the damage to my phone and I want them to take responsibility for my phone or I will take this matter further,as they are lying to the public to sell their their gel screen guard,which doesn't serve as a protection.
