Telkom luring in customers with false advertising
Dear Telkom,
You've managed to lure me in with false advertising and now you're speedy in debiting my account for items I have yet to receive.
A few weeks ago I had received an sms from Telkom regarding my upgrade that was due, during this time Telkom had been sending me various text messages with adverti*****ts and attached to the text messages were the Telkom website links for you to upgrade via their website. When I had received this text message,
"Dear Tariq, your Telkom Mobile contract 0829****** is due for renewal. Be one of the first to pre-order the much anticipated Huawei Y9 2019 on FREEme 1GB for only R259PM X 24 and get Freelace Headsets valued at R2 499! Click here to pre-order https://tlkm.link/ConsUpgrades Pre- Order Valid from the 05th - 08th August 2019. Ts and Cs apply. Telkom." I thought this is too good to pass up, so I followed the link filled in all the necessary fields and was shortly sent a text message stating the following" Dear customer, thank you for your online application. Kindly be advised that Telkom will contact you shortly from 012688 ***X with regard to your online request. Regards, Telkom Online Team."
Then, an agent by the name of Arnold called me he had informed me of every detail regarding this deal, he mentioned that my device would first be delivered within 7 working days and once receiving my device, I would need to wait a duration of 3days for my free lace headset to be delivered. Telkom, it has been 3 weeks, I've called Telkom 4 times this morning, I've been shifted from department to department, eventually I was put through to you, the sales agent who sold and finalized this deal, immediately on answering the call in the same breath as you greeted me, you said you would call me back as you cannot speak to me right now, I then demanded your attention and when I asked you about the deal you sold me and querying where my headset is, in your own words you said it is not Telkom's responsibility and I need to contact Huawei myself to look for my headset, I became heated and handed the call over to my wife, she requested the call reference for the sale as well as for the current call, you advised that you could not give her those details, then she requested to speak to your team leader or supervisor and this option was not available to us as you refused to put us through to any management, you were abrupt during this call and extremely unhelpful, you have sold me a deal, I am now required to pay for and I have received no assistance from Telkom.
I am now reaching out to hello Peter to assist me with this issue as it is unacceptable to be treated with such neglect, it seems as though they're will reach any level of dishonesty to make their sale, however when it comes to follow up or taking care of the customer they are not interested at all and you are treated with no importance
As advised by Arnold to contact Huawei myself to look for my headset, Huawei has informed me that Telkom has made a huge error and they have no further information to give me. Now seriously what do I do? I am being debited for something I have not received incl pro-rated fees etc. Tell me how is this even okay??
Seriously, disgusted at the service I've received
