TELKOM - LTE Broadband Wireless 50GB + 50GB

It is incredible that, after 4 months of useless attempts to resolve problems with the “LTE Broadband Wireless 50GB + 50GB”, Telkom continue ignoring the matter pushing around a Client but cashing the monthly fees without granting the service.
To nothing brought all attempts I did to find the way to get the due service visiting their shop at Cape Gate and calling the Customers' service.
The last chance I thought possible was to send a Complaint to the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services; to the Independent Communication Authority of South Africa; to ICASA , to the National Consumer Commission and to CPA - Consumer Protection Act, hoping that, at least with the intervention of them, or of one of them, I finally will find a solution.
I am very surprised that, being South Africa one of the most organized Countries on the legal point of view, no Law Firms decided yet to assist and defend the Consumers rights by establlishing “Class Actions” against companies promising/selling services/contracts without granting them, cashing the monthly fees as everything works well.
Telkom should be one of those, with no doubts.
In my case, after they accepted the application for the “LTE Broadband Wireless 50GB + 50GB” confirming a 24 months contract for R699.00 monthly, I discovered that such a service is not available in the area where I live.
That means that Telkom sell contracts and cash money from Consumers even if unable to grant the services and, while cashing and receiving complaints, they work to better the service, even if one can never be sure that the quality of that service will finally comply with the promised standards…
my case, they did not even succeed in issuing the delivery document of the modem, nor the monthly invoice at the right address where I live, which was clearly indicated on the application …
In 4 months, they lost my Ref. Numbers of complaints 3 times and sent 7 SMS informing that they are “busy resolving” the problem of the speed of downloading and uploading data (if, and when, the modem works and does not go offline, even if all control lights confirm that it is working correctly), being most of the times around 0,97 - 1,15 - 2,55 - 1,66 Mbps (only twice in 4 months, I had a speed of 4,62 and 4,04 Mbps) and uploading 0,19 - 0,20 - 0,38 Mbps (only once in 4 months I had a speed of 1,10 Mbps), even if Telkom grants up to 150Mbps.
I think that, if Telkom is not able to grant the services that advertise, propose and sell, (and they know it well before starting the marketing campaigns), they have the duty to inform the Customers/Consumers, avoiding to accept applications delivering no service, against the payment of full monthly fees. In Italy, we call something like this "commercial *****".
Therefore, I personally consider that Telkom's conduct is clearly disrespectful of the rights to be granted to Consumers and *****olent because against no service, they pretend to cash the full payment.
On my point of view, it can be said that the marketing, the description of the service and the catalogues Telkom's, especially related to the product they call “LTE Broadband Wireless 50GB + 50GB”, are misleading and the imposed 2 years Contract *******, misleading the Consumer/s convincing them, being in perfect good faith and trusting the company, to choose their service/s, which in real facts cannot grant.
As a consequence, Telkom has to be considered as liable for damages and discomforts caused, besides for ******* collection of fees against non-services, or only partial service/s supp**** and I hope that the Authorities I contacted asking to intervene to resolve the problems will go that way and finally punish the arrogance.

Claudio Ruffini

… a new reference number …

Starting from the 557256 ex 27.12.2016, which never had been traced because not existent … to the ********** 3 ex 11.01.2017, which become ********** on 20.02 but returned ********** 3 in Telkom's SMS ex 14 and 22.03, now the new AI ********** …

Too much talk and no action, we say in Italy ...
Absurd and useless bureaucracy and no action to resolve Consumers/Customers' problems, respecting their rights, seriously thinking that all Telkom's salaries (included the ones of the top management) are paid thanks to them, often ****** from them, as in my case …
Yazied, what is the “relevant department “ you mention, to which you sent my claim.
Is that the same to which (may be) will arrive the warnings from the Department of Telecommunications and Postal Services; and/or from the Independent Communication Authority of South Africa; and/or from ICASA, and/or from the National Consumer Commission, of the CPA - Consumer Protection Act and/or from Telkom's head office, to all of which I addressed my complaint, getting not even one single sign of interest ???

Tabiso,

Telkom has all my details as from November last year ... issuing monthly invoices for ghat non-service ...

it is not necessary to go ahead with this nonsense. All the reference numbers you gave me during the last 4 months indicate exactly WHO I am, WHERE I stay, the PROBLEMS I am experiencing that Telkom continues NOT resolving and that is more than enough to act, instead of continuing wasting time ...!!!
