Telkom Loadshedding on Services. Don't even try Showmax account! #nohelp #3weeks2assist
On Thursday 7 March 2019 upon getting home after work my ADSL line was not working. Like so many times before I left it thinking it would be back on the next day. The Friday after work still no ADSL and after phoning received word they are working in the area. 9 March 2019 logged a call via sms, Ref. ********** 2, system. By the 12th I haven't had anyone from Telkom getting back to me. 12 March 2019 I phone again, this time they had my address wrong again, then my ISP which was always Telkom was different. The Telkom assistant reset everything from her side and still nothing. The she logged a call. Ref. ********** 4. Morning of the 13th I received a sms stating my service was resolved and if not reply Yes. Obviously rep**** yes. Phoned Telkom again on 13 March and was told again a Technician will contact me. Logged another call, Ref. ********** 8. Today is 16 March 2019, I still have no internet and no technician has made contact. So I phoned again and was informed there is a problem in my area. I stated when I logged my 1st call almost 2 weeks ago there was no problem in my area. So technicians working in my area will not resolve my problem. Again my call logged was just escalated. Telkom send my new bill for end March without problems, can deduct the monthly installments with no problem, but as soon as there is a problem Telkom can't help. So I will still need to pay my full subscription amount for March even though it seems it will take them 3 weeks to resolve my problem. It's becoming a typical South African culture to pay for services not rendered. Maybe Telkom should not advertise un-capped ADSL if they can't deliver. Over the past months the internet became so slow I can only connect 1 devise at time where I could watch Showmax and have 2 phones connected, now you can only watch Showmax buffering every 5 minutes and can't connect any other devices. My area only gives 8mb lines for the past 5 years, no effort to rise or upgrade the service in the are. I'm starting to loose faith in Telkom, it's letting us down just like Eskom. When I wanted to take up new offers I was told existing clients don't qualify for that services. I will have to cancel current contract and re-apply as new customer in order to take new ADSL offers. That just proofs that Telkom will do anything in their power to get you as a client but as soon as you are hooked don't expect quick assistance when help is needed. Unless you want to buy more stuff.
