Telkom line down for 4 weeks

Our lines went down on 10 June 2017 due to a cable break by a tree falling on it . A call was placed on the 12th but up to now nothing has happened. I call the regularly as we need the ADSL line to service our guests . I even went to visit the Port Elizabeth Telkom office to no avail. The answer is that with a cable break there is no turnaround time. They have handed it overe to the cable people and the user can wait.

In the meantime we are spending a fortune on airtime .

They send out an SMS after I call them to know whether I will recommend them to other people , evan ask what rating I would give them and when the get 0 they want to know why

our fault reference is 323 CEK120617

Chris Heunis

Hello fynbos12

The query has been escalated to the managers responsible for the repair for a progress update and if possible an estimated time of repair.

Today is exactly a month and I do not know how long it will still be down but it is unacceptable , we do need our Telkom service urgently . I am not the only one affected and I fail to see that Telkom can just ignore the problem . I hear all kinds of excuses , about cables being ordered and that a broken cable does not have a turnaround time. I used to be in a Network area at a Bank and by this time we would have had the whole Telkom management team on the red carpet.

The proble we have now is that I end up at a call centre in Pretoria with a person that look in your system and just relay the comments in there . I would like to physically speak the responsible people.
