Telkom left me in the lurch in another country

I am currently in Namibia and have no access to my contacts and cannot download any apps to make contact with my loved ones thanks to Telkom. (which has been a real nightmare over the festive season too) I have been using a Namibian sim card whilst here and did not plan on activating my international roaming due to the costs. My phone decided to die on me and I have had to buy a new one. In order to get my contacts back and download whatsapp I need to get a pin code from Apple which is registered to my South African number. I got a friend to call Telkom to find out what I could do and they explained that I should have activated international roaming 7 days before I left but I should just phone Telkom directly with my ID number and they would be able to help me. (Please note that I did not plan for my phone to die and was not planning on activating international roaming) I have since called Telkom and got a totally different story from Lesego Maketsi who could not stop rubbing it in my face that I should have activated before I left (WHAT PART OF MY PHONE DYING DO YOU PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND?) I was promised that her manager (Sibongile Malinga) would call me back and have still not heard anything in 3 weeks... I am still in Namibia and still cannot make contact with anyone. I have had to send emails to try and get some numbers so that people don't think that I am dead. Thanks for nothing Telkom. I moved from Cell C because of their shabby service and am now starting to wonder whether I am going to hang around with you any longer...
