Telkom - leaves much to be desired

Good day, First I would like to say how helpful Gumede V was on the phone this afternoon. She assisted me with my queries and I believe I have gotten to the bottom of the issue I have been dealing with, because of her help. The issue - apart from my monthly debit order, on my telkom app it states that I owe R147.19, which I could not get to the bottom of. This has happened before and I get charged without consent. It now seems that it is due to the fact that after my 100 minutes are up for the month, that I am charged for non-telkom calls. Whilst I was aware two years ago when I took out the contract that I was to receive 100 minutes per month - my app has consistently been showing me that I have far more minutes available to use and nowhere does it state that it is only to be used on telkom lines. I understand that this may have been told to me at the time of taking out the contract, so very long ago, but your information available on the app (deliberately, I'm sure) makes no mention of this. The Telkom app appears to want to give the impression that over the two years that I've had this contract, there have been months whereby I haven't used my minutes, and that they have added up to over 2000 available minutes now. This is what your app depicts, but it is not the reality. This is trickery at it's finest and another reason why I am strongly considering leaving Telkom altogether. Another reason being your relentless harassment of me to get a new phone that I do not need.I receive calls every couple of days, sometimes daily from your sales team trying to get me to upgrade my contract, after I have expressly stated that I have no desire or intention of doing so. Telkom is so concerned with making more money/ selling more phones, that you have no respect for not only the environment in terms of wastage, but also no respect for your customers wishes. On top of that, I have had to go back and forth to cancel my useless device insurance on this contract, spending more time on a simple cancelation than one should ever have to as Telkom and Finrite have made it as difficult as possible to do, likely in the hopes that people will give up and stick with it. While I understand that Telkom is a business, and that your fellow service provider competitors leave much to be desired as well, I would like to suggest that an ethical/ honest and upfront approach would serve you better. Your current approach leaves me looking elsewhere. With that being said, you have a valuable employee and I again thank Gumede for her help and time. In the future, please do not call me for an upgrade.
