Telkom keeps on dissapointing

Brief description of your complaint

Hi.

When I looked at my Telkom bill on 04/10, I noticed that Telkom deducted the amount for my 3 contracts and another R349.00 for voice. When I phoned Telkom to request why there were voice charges after I specifically asked them to cut off the calls after my 100 minutes have been used up. They said that they do jot know how and that maybe I changed the cut off . . . Which I did not. . . . And when I asked the lady to please add the cap again, she said it is on. I do jot understand that for 8 months my phones cut off when I used up my minutes, but for August+ September it could go over. . . . So I phoned my bank and asked them to reverse the amount. I then paid the R1197.00 for my contracts.

On 18 /10, all 3 my contracts were suspended. . . . With no written notice as per my contract and after my invoice stated due date for payment as 31 October 2016.

I went in to the Telkom store at Irene Village Mall and the lady explained to me that my account is in collection. I paid the outstanding money into the Telkom account number provided using my 19 digit reference number and when I went in to the Telkom store at Brooklyn Mall on the same day, they said that both my payments reflect and that I would only have to wait 72 hours for my phone to be reactivated.

After going in and out of Telkom stores day after day, everybody just kept telling me to wait 2-24 hours. . .. . 48 hours. . . .72 hours. . . .48 hours. . . .82 hours. . . . Because nobody knew what they were doing.

On 24/10 I decided that enough is enough and I went into the Telkom store at Centurion Mall and I demanded that the sort this out NOW. After emailing both proof of payments, the lady told me that I forgot to put the 0 in front of my reference number and this my payment is not reflecting. She said that she could help me by requesting a transfer from the wrong reference number to the correct reference number. My phones will be activated in 72 hours. It is now 140 hours later and my phone is still not on. On 27 and 28/ 10 I also phoned 081180 to find out what is going on, bit also here no one was able to help me. I do not see why it os taking so long as all Telkom’s ref numbers starts with 0.

Telkom sales people and customer service obviously does not care aboit their client. I hope this is not how Telkom want to be represented. I am very dissapointed. I will never reccomend Telkom to anyone ever again.

My accounts were reactivated this morning. . . 01/11/2016. . . After being susspended for 15 days.

Telkom phoned me and told me that my accounts were activated, but that I will still have to pay for the 15 days that my accounts were susspended, because "it is a contract". After I poineted out to the caller that my contract stated that I will not be billed, he said that he is not from the billing department and that I would have to take it up with them.

He also then later phoned me again, but I missed the call. He left me a voicemail asking that I please change my Hello Peter complaint to a Hello Peter compliment.

I do not think that I received the service that I deserve and I definitely did not receive any compensation for the 15 days that my phone was off.

Telkom needs to improve their customer service. I am carrying on with my complaints to compensate for my inconvenience and to prevent any one else fromsuffering the same fate.

Please assist.

Kind Regards.

Bernardette.
