Telkom just won't cancel my contract though the 24 months have passed!!!

Though I was decieved by Telkom representatives into a mobile contract with them where I would pay R270.00 for a cell phone I did not agree to, I honoured my end of the contract where every month I paid them without fail. The contract was for 24 months and the last day was supposed to be on the 9th May 2016. On the 9th April 2016, I went to a Telkom store and requensted a cancellation form which I completed and was submitted on my behalf by their employee because surprisingly it takes 30 days to process the cancellation hence you are advised to submit cancellation request a month before the contract comes to an end . Subsequently I was provided with a case number 1 ********** should I want to follow up. The whole month of May I had been calling in making follow up as to find out why my contract had not yet been cancelled but everytime I would be told that my case will be escalated to cancellations division.

On the 3rd of June 2016 I recieved an invoice from Telkom of R515.30 (no longer R270.00) because I'm now charged out of contract rates though they refuse to cancel my contract (this sounds like a contradiction but believe its not), on the 01st of each month, they still load the data and munites but now you are charged out of contract rates, go figure. This made sense as to why the contract was not being cancelled, its so that I'm charged out of contract rates. I requested that my number be converted to prepaid , but they are not willing to instead they want to charge me out of contract rates. Well, Telkom, I'm not going to pay the said invoice and I will not be making any payments to you from now on because I had already requested that my number be converted to prepaid and I refuse to be decieved twice by you.

If you are thinking of taking up a with these people don't, they are not honest people. You have been warned!!!
