Telkom ISP - South Africa's warmest sticky pile of steamy brown.
If you want to pay for abominably broken internet, at half the speeds of its competitors, at twice the price - I recommend Telkoms internet to you. Their complete lack of consistancy in their connection coupled with the constant downtime, throttling and issues experienced in synchronization between users of different area codes prove that it's Telkom themselves that are the issue. As someone who works from home off the internet, I get at least 4+ downtime periods during the day and night where the connection simply shuts off without fault of our own. During meetings I have to pray and hope that today is my day and that the connection that was paid for works as it should for just a simple 2 hours.
"Oh no but this is a problem to be taken up with customer support" you say. Well, you're in luck my friend (not) - once you give them your money for that broken service we just talked about and its down and limping in 7 days or less, you get to go on a not-so-treasure hunt for the privilege to contact customer 'support'. Once you finally get through to one of their 'support' humans and explain your problem(s), they join forces with their colleagues like a badly trained bunch of knockoff Power Rangers to continuously juggle your call around to one another like a hot potato after making you wait ridiculous amounts of time on hold waiting patiently as you come to the realization that your call has basically ended and you've become a vessel for customer 'support' to waste time on.
