Telkom is useless

Complaint Regarding Telkom Branches at Riverside Mall and Mr. Makgosi Mabuyane at I’langa Mall Branch

I wish to lodge a complaint against Telkom regarding two separate incidents at their Riverside Mall branch and with Mr. Makgosi Mabuyane at the I’langa Mall branch.

I held two accounts with Telkom, one for my cellphone and another for WiFi services. The WiFi account expired two months ago, yet Telkom continued to deduct monthly fees. In response, I visited the Riverside branch to physically terminate this contract. The representative assured me that the cancellation was processed, and I wouldn't be charged further. However, recently, my cellphone number was suspended due to alleged nonpayment. According to the statement provided (attached), the last payment was received on February 29th, and today's date is March 23rd, 2024. This indicates that I was still covered for the month of March, as the debit order for this cellphone contract would have been processed at the end of March. Therefore, I question why my number was suspended prematurely.

Seeking clarification, I visited the I’langa Mall branch to inquire about the situation. Mr. Makgosi Mabuyane, the attendant, displayed rudeness and reluctance to assist. He claimed that the contract was not cancelled at the other branch and redirected us to resolve the issue there. When requested to contact the Nelspruit branch, he falsely stated they lacked telephones—a baffling claim for a cellphone shop.

Considering that my WiFi account had already expired, the continued deductions are unjustifiable. I demand reimbur*****t for these months and written confirmation of the account's cancellation.

I suspect an error occurred at the Riverside Mall branch where the debit order was terminated instead of the contract. This needs immediate rectification. Furthermore, I insist that my cellphone contract be reinstated, as I've now made the full payment despite not utilizing the Wifi service.
