Telkom is unreliable, unhelpful, confused, cannot keep promises and cannot keep to a BINDING CONTRACT!!!!!!

Ladies and gentleman, I will be pasting a copy of the first review regarding Telkom below this review.

I have received a reply 8 days ago, about a week after the review was published by the way, saying that I will be contacted. No call, no message, no effort and NO SERVICE. I pay ahead for my internet, that was our agreement was it not always like this for the past four years? I go in to your store because your customer service line is absolutely not helpful at all, where I scheduled my cancellation for the one contract. I pay for that contract then you go and you CUT OFF MY INTERNET WHICH I HAVE PAID FOR!!!!!!!!!!!! Ladies and gentleman, don't get a contract with Telkom. They do not care about you, they do not care about service, they cannot deliver, they cannot keep a promise they cannot EVEN KEEP TO A CONTRACT!!!!!!

For your pleasure and to inform you about what this is all about, please find the original review.

"I have been pondering how I will write this review. To be honest it has been quite a ride; screaming because everytime you go into a Telkom store, there is a different story. Each time you speak with Telkom over the phone, you have a different story.

Let's start at the beginning. Two years ago I took out a laptop contract from you. I spoke to a lovely gentleman who said how happy and excited he is because this will be his last contract as he is starting at a new company the next day. Pretty convenient right? I went in to get a contract for an HP laptop ONLY, when he said "we don't have that model available anymore, even though it is in the book which is still valid. I do have a better special which you can have, let me just speak to my manager and see if you can still get it." He came back all smiling and said that his manager says I can get the Lenovo Ideapad 100 WITH 2GB Smart internet data for only R463.16. He asked if I would like to take the contract out for 24 or 36 months. The total difference was only R35. I opted happily for the 24 months.

Now comes the messy part. You see, I was never given a physical contract, they cannot provide me with one and now I am told that without a physical contract I will submit to their rules. I was firstly NEVER INFORMED that you "laptops" are 36 months and that the contract I signed was actually just for the internet for 24 months. That is ***** and borders on ********. No, it actually IS ******** as you NEVER informed be and tell me I WILL pay. "Sorry for the inconvenience."

Now let's go on. I went into Telkom in May, "Your Smartinternet 2GB DEAL (notice on the invoice how it does not say LAPTOP AND INTERNET on the SUMMARY, but DEAL AS IN COMBO WHICH WAS AGREED ON) ends in September (EVEN THOUGH THE CONTRACT WAS TAKEN OUT IN JUNE 2016, NOW IT ENDS IN SEPTEMBER. THAT IS A BIT MORE THAN 24 MONTHS ISN'T IT?) Lovely.

Then I went to Telkom after phoning you guys THREE TIMES!!!!!!! and got THREE DIFFERENT ANSWERS!!!! Now my contract expires September 2018, then 26 September 2019, then 24 September 2019. Finally getting CONFIRMATION FROM YOUR WOODLANDS BRANCH THAT MY CONTRACT ENDS SEPTEMBER 2018.

You are messing me around. I have not signed for 36 months for ANYTHING. If I did, I would like you to prove to me in WRITING with my PHYSICAL SIGNATURE NEXT TO IT!!!!! If not, then I will only accept what your branch has told me, "Your contract expires in September 2018, your last payment is due end of August 2018." I will cancel the debit order and you cannot hold me liable as I was **** to, misinformed, messed around, and deceived.

Ladies and gentleman, for what it's worth, I work in Botswana and am there now. The lovely lady phones me, I tell her that I cannot talk long as I PAY FOR THE CALL AS I AM ON ROAMING, she continues trying to sell me a few more packages. Really? She the confirms my contract, this one with the laptop by the way, ends in September 2018. I say thank you and goodbye. She phones back and says oh no, it is 36 months. So now your computer says two things, one of which I did NOT sign for? I would also like to ask to please in the future not try to be sarcastic and say "You are not paying for the call, I am the one phoning you." International calls on South African numbers, the receiver pays not you Telkom.

So yes, I am expecting an answer today with it being resolved before this afternoon or I will go to the Consumer Law, and I will not leave it here. You lie, you deceive, you *****, you try to force me into paying and I will not because YOU CANNOT HOLD ME LIABLE AS YOU CANNOT GIVE ME A PHYSICAL CONTRACT, YOU NEVER TOLD ME OF 36 MONTHS AND IF I AM PAYING R463.16 FOR THIS "DEAL", IS THE ONLY DEAL FOR THE INTERNET OR FOR THE LAPTOP AS I WAS TOLD IT IS 24 MONTHS, 2GB DATA AND A LENOVO LAPTOP?

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
