Telkom is Pathetic! And supports ******** activity!!!

To whom this may concern,

To start off with, I would like to say how very unhappy I am with the services that we received in the last 2 months with Telkom.

Firstly, my fiancé’s tablet was ****** in the beginning of January 2017. On the 26th of January, Telkom’s ***** department called Ruben (My fiancé) to ask him if he transferred any airtime to the 3 different devices up to the value of almost a thousand Rand. Ruben said no he did not as he did not use his tablet for the past few months. The lady on the phone advised him that she was going to reverse this transfer but that he had to go and get an affidavit. That afternoon after work, we went to the Bellville police station and got an affidavit as requested. We also opened a case (760/1/2017) with the police department.

The next morning, Ruben called the Telkom call centre to advise them of what has happened and a few call centre agents put the phone down in his ear. When I got to work, I called Telkom myself and spoke to a Poswa Babalo (Call reference ********** 9). He said to me to send the affidavit to his email address ********** which I did. He promised me on this call that the money will not be deducted from Ruben’s account at the end of February as this was not due by us. (You are more than welcome to pull the call recording as I made sure that the call was recorded. should you not have this call recording on your system, I can request this from our IT department and send it to you as our calls are also recoded).

A week after my call with Poswa, We went to the Telkom Store in Tygervalley to upgrade Ruben’s cell phone, and the lady that helped us in that store said that she can see that there is a case on the system, but the case was closed due to insufficient evidence. The lady then called Telkom from her own cell phone and asked them to open the case again.

Ruben then received a statement and the full account was going to be deducted from his bank account. We called Telkom again to ask them why the full R2 147.00 was going to be deducted from his account as we have spoken to various people with regards to this query. The call centre advised him that Ruben has to pay the account and then Telkom will still investigate this account.

Now, my problem with this statement was, that why is it OK for Telkom to deduct R2 147.00 from his account whilst they investigate it? Telkom clearly does not give a **** about their customers, because this is not something we can afford. Why not stop the deduction for the money for the tablet as we are not liable for it, until the investigation is completed. But NOOO, now Telkom expects us to pay for your mistakes. Ruben also has a limit of R1 000.00 on his tablet, so we may then also take Telkom to court as they allowed this limit to be exceeded.

We paid the account for his Cell phone as this is what is due by us. Telkom has the 3 numbers to who the money was transferred to, why not charge them? We already did YOUR jobs, now why would you not try and help us? Again, Telkom does not care about their customers, we already signed the contract and you know you will get your money for the next 24 months.

This means that Telkom supports ******** activity and I am not shy to take this to the paper and Carte Blanche.

My second problem with these supposedly wonderful services you promised:

Ruben upgraded his phone with Telkom, and the contact that was sold to him was the R399/pm with the Huawei P9, and with that you get the 10” tablet too. The lady said that they did not have the Tablet in stock, but she promised to call when the tablet arrives.

Two weeks later, no one called to say that the tablet was in store, So Ruben and I decided to go to the Tygervalley store ourselves after trying to call the store in the morning. As we walked in, the lady was sitting at her desk with no customers (I cannot understand why no one could pick up a phone). When we said that we came to pick up the tablet, her head fell into her hands and she admitted that she FORGOT to call us. Then she mentioned that the tablets was ‘until stocks lasts’ and only for the first 1 000 customers. When she sold this contract to us, she never mentioned this clause

This is unacceptable. We did not know that this was until stocks last.

I am disgusted in Telkom and your services. We sent in a complaint on Hello peter already and had no joy thus far. This is pathetic.
